Testimonials:

‘Sophie worked with me in the re-drafting process of Superhero Snail Boy as I prepared for the Edinburgh Festival and a subsequent national tour.  I cannot credit her input highly enough.  She was committed, passionate and offered countless precious ideas, particularly in terms of re-structuring the narrative arc of the piece.  She was also a much needed voice of reason throughout the editing process.  There is no doubt in my mind that without her the show would not have been the success that it was. ‘ – Lizzie Muncey, Writer

‘I met Sophie in 2012 when she directed an extract of my writing. Since then she has been my dramaturg, my director, my advisor, confidant and friend. Choosing Sophie to direct of my first full length production was the easiest and best decision I have made as a writer and I cannot recommend her to others highly enough. In the rehearsal room she directs with calm instinct and a reactionary versatility I have yet to observe elsewhere. Her reverence for the text and honest, learned opinion in script development is a superb balance that every writer should experience.  Sophie’s success is borne from hard work, skill, extraordinary talent and a heart full of passion that she brings to every task or challenge she is presented with.’ – Caro Dixey, Writer

‘Sophie worked with me on my two most recent plays, Fucking Outside the Box and Naked, both of which debuted at VAULT Festival (2014 and 2015.) I found her to be an exceptionally thorough, dynamic and intelligent dramaturg, with a dedicated work ethic and an approach to script development that was as perceptive as it was unique. I trust Sophie’s opinion above all others and her workshops and notes are now an integral part of my creative process. I couldn’t write without her.’ – Jessica Burgess, Writer

‘Vertical Line Theatre have worked with Sophie on numerous occasions in many different capacities where she has excelled at the highest level. Her facilitation work as the Dramaturg on our national tour of Superhero Snail Boy was imperative to the process. Her meticulousness and engagement to the world of the play was infectious and she really helped build the world around the script. Working in tandem with the director, they built a solid foundation which stood the actors and the creative team in good stead for the rehearsal process. I would absolutely recommend her.’ – Henry Regan, Artistic Director of Vertical Line Theatre Company
